The 62 × 32 × 10 mm UHF RFID Cylinder Tag is designed to follow the contour of a cylindrical asset, creating a stable contact area where a flat tag would be difficult to mount. Its curved housing makes it suitable for gas cylinders, pressure vessels, drums, pipes and other round metal equipment used in industrial, utility, laboratory and logistics applications.
With passive UHF RFID, each cylinder can carry a digital identity that is read without a battery and without direct line of sight. The identifier can be linked to filling history, inspections, test dates, ownership, location, maintenance status or rental records. This can streamline cylinder audits and help reduce manual transcription compared with visually reading worn labels or stamped numbers.
The housing is shaped for installation on a curved surface and includes a dark backing/interface area visible in the product image. The final fixing method – such as an approved industrial adhesive, band or other attachment system – must be selected for the cylinder material, curvature and operating environment. Never drill, weld or otherwise modify a pressure vessel unless the method is authorised by its manufacturer and applicable safety regulations.
UHF versions may be supplied with EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO/IEC 18000-6C compatible chips and regional tuning. Read range varies with cylinder diameter and contents, tag orientation, reader antenna, power and nearby objects. Evaluation on the actual filled and empty cylinder is recommended before rollout.
