The 7 × 7 mm Mini 13.56 MHz RFID Tag is a miniature HF transponder for products and devices where standard labels are too large. Available in an approximately 7 × 7 mm format or as a custom antenna design, it can be considered for embedded identification, consumables, small tools, medical or laboratory items, electronics, product authentication and compact smart-device applications.
The exposed inlay construction shown is intended for integration into a finished product, label or protective housing rather than use as an unprotected general-purpose tag. Its thin antenna and integrated circuit can provide a unique digital identity and, depending on the selected chip, may support user memory, read/write functions or NFC-compatible interaction. Suitable IC families can be discussed for ISO/IEC 14443 Type A or ISO/IEC 15693 applications, subject to the required feature set and antenna size.
Miniaturisation involves an important performance trade-off: a smaller antenna normally provides a shorter and more orientation-sensitive read range than a larger HF tag. The surrounding enclosure, metal, battery, liquid, adhesive and reader antenna can also affect tuning. For that reason, the final chip and antenna should be selected alongside the reader and tested inside the actual host product – not only in free air.
Customisation may include alternative shapes and dimensions, chip selection, antenna tuning, delivery format, adhesive, encoding or conversion into a finished label. Minimum order quantities and engineering charges may apply to bespoke constructions.
