EM4305 LF RFID Nail Tag

The 41 × 22 mm EM4305 LF RFID Nail Tag provides a discreet, durable way to add electronic identification to trees, timber products and other suitable non-metallic assets. The pointed stem is designed to be driven into a prepared location, while the flat circular head remains accessible to the RFID reader. With a head thickness of approximately 3.8 mm, the tag creates a low-profile installation that is harder to remove accidentally than a surface label.

Typical applications include forestry inventories, tree maintenance records, timber traceability, pallet identification, landscape management and inspection scheduling. A unique tag identity can be linked to records such as species, planting date, treatment history, ownership, location or processing batch. Contactless reading removes the need to expose or visually scan a barcode, which can improve data collection where labels become dirty, weathered or concealed.

The integrated EM4305 transponder operates at low frequency and offers read/write capability when used with a compatible system and encoding configuration. LF RFID is intended for short-range, deliberate identification. Read performance depends on the reader antenna, tag orientation, installation depth and surrounding material.

This nail tag should normally be installed in wood or another material approved for the final product. It is not described as an on-metal tag, and placing it directly in metal may significantly reduce or prevent reading. Always assess installation method, biological impact and applicable forestry or environmental rules before use in living trees.
