The Pepper C1 PoE is a next-generation RFID reader designed for demanding embedded and networked applications. It’s a very powerful, and low cost full RFID/NFC read/write device with Ethernet, USB, UART interfaces that can operate in both host connected and stand alone mode. Power can be supplied via USB, or PoE. Supports MIFARE® Classic® in 1K, 4K memory, ICODE, MIFARE Ultralight®, MIFARE DESFire® EV1/EV2, MIFARE Plus® and NTAG2xx.

The Pepper C1 PoE is a next-generation RFID reader designed for demanding embedded and networked applications. Based on the proven Pepper C1 platform, this enhanced model adds Ethernet connectivity with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, a USB-C interface, UART 3.3V and all wireless options available in the Pepper C1 reader offering unmatched flexibility in installation and communication.
It supports all ISO14443A/B and ISO15693 tags and cards, including MIFARE® Classic, MIFARE® DESFire®, and NTAG. The device can operate as a TCP Server, TCP Client, and supports REST API, MQTT, and WebSocket protocols, making it ideal for modern IoT and cloud-connected systems and industrial automation.
The reader includes connectors for both an external 2.4GHz antenna (u.FL) and an external RFID antenna, providing extended range and versatility for customised applications.
With integrated 2.4GHz interface (BR/EDR mode + LE), the Pepper C1 PoE also supports low-power wireless HID mode, enabling wireless keyboard-style communication with mobile devices and PCs.
Power can be supplied via USB, PoE, or both simultaneously providing redundancy and installation flexibility.
An optional dedicated plastic enclosure is available for professional mounting and robust protection in real-world deployments.
Firmware customisation is available to meet specific needs, and we also offer RFID antenna tuning services for optimised performance in challenging, metal-dense environments.
