The 25.3 × 8 mm UHF RFID Drill Pipe Tag is a compact, rugged transponder designed for identifying drill pipes and other metal assets used in oil and gas operations. Its round, low-profile format allows the tag to be recessed into a prepared pocket, helping to protect it from direct impact while maintaining a permanent digital identity on the asset. Typical applications include drill-string inventory, pipe lifecycle records, inspection history, maintenance control and tool accountability.
Designed for UHF RFID systems, the tag supports rapid, contactless identification without requiring line-of-sight scanning. This makes it a practical alternative to labels or engraved numbers that may become difficult to read in dirty, abrasive or exposed working environments. Each installed tag can be associated with an asset record, enabling operators to connect the physical pipe with serial data, inspection results and service information in an RFID-enabled management system.
The metal construction and engineered insert are intended for demanding industrial use. Final performance depends on the selected IC, reader power, installation depth, surrounding metal, tag orientation and regional frequency plan. For production projects, we recommend testing samples in the actual pipe geometry and operating environment before deployment.
Available configurations may include EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO/IEC 18000-6C compatible UHF chips for EU or US frequency bands. Encoding and other bespoke options may also be available.
