UHF RFID On-Metal Tag

The 80 × 25 mm UHF RFID On-Metal Tag is a rugged, low-profile transponder for identifying tools, machinery, containers and other industrial equipment. Its elongated housing includes mounting holes at both ends, providing a dependable mechanical fixing where ordinary adhesive labels may be damaged, removed or detuned by a metal surface.

The tag is engineered for use on metal and provides a passive, battery-free identity that can be detected without optical line of sight. This supports faster asset audits, maintenance checks, tool control, warehouse processes, rental management and returnable-container tracking. A unique EPC or project-specific identifier can link each item to ownership, location, inspection records and service history in an RFID software platform.

At 80 × 25 mm, the tag provides a useful balance between a slim installation footprint and an antenna area suitable for UHF asset-tracking applications. The two-hole design allows screws, rivets or other approved fasteners to be selected for the host asset. Confirm hole diameter and spacing before manufacture, and ensure the fixing method does not damage the tag or compromise the equipment.

Configurations may be available for EU and US UHF bands using EPC Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO/IEC 18000-6C compatible ICs. Actual performance depends on the chip, reader power, antenna, mounting surface, tag orientation and surrounding environment. As with every on-metal tag, evaluation in the final installation position is recommended before volume deployment.
